As part of the traditional cooperation between the Language Institute and Second Gymnasium in Sarajevo, as the direct link between the science of language and practice, on February 23, 2018, representatives of the Institute presented 100 Bosnian dictionaries. Dr. sc. Alen Kalajdžija, Director of the Institute, and dr. sc. Jasmin Hodžić for the first time presented to the public a rich lexicographic practice in the Bosnian language, evidenced by the fact that there are more than 100 dictionaries in the Bosnian language. In addition to three descriptive-normative dictionaries, most of them are bilingual, mostly Bosnian-English and Bosnian-Turkish, but there are dictionaries of Bosnian and Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Italian… Other dictionaries are specialized, such as phraseological, medical, ethnographic, etc. All these dictionaries were made from 1992 to the present, representing an average of 4 dictionaries annually, and this is the fact that is worth presenting. On this occasion, the Language Institute received a monograph of 100 years of the Second Gymnasium in Sarajevo.
