On the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, like every year, in cooperation with the Public Library of Sarajevo, the Language Institute of the University of Sarajevo organized a lecture. This year, at Multimedia Center “Mak”, starting at 13.00, prof. dr. Shahab Yar Khan, from the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Sarajevo, originally from Pakistan, gave a lecture in which he compared Urdu and Bosnian language within the aspect of the geo-political forces of socio-historical tension in the regions where these languages are born. He was introduced by Ph.D. Jasmin Hodžić from the Institute, who spoke on the topic “Our links with International Mother Language Day (the issue of official use of language and languages)”. The moderator was MSc. Zenaida Karavdić, also from the Language Institute.
