Professional Seminar in Bosnian Language and Literature for Secondary School Teachers ZDK, Zenica, January 18, 2018

On Thursday, January 18, 2018, a professional seminar in Bosnian language and literature was held for teachers of secondary schools from the Zenica-Doboj Canton. The seminar was organized by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Zenica-Doboj Canton in cooperation with the Zenica-Doboj Canton Educational-Pedagogical Bureau and the Language Institute of the University of Sarajevo. It was held at the Mixed High School “Mladost”, Bilmišće, Zenica. The lecturers were Erma Ramić-Kunić, MA, dr. sc. Jasmin Hodžić, mr. sc. Zenaida Karavdić and Hadžem Hajdarević, writer. The seminar was attended by about a hundred teachers from secondary schools in the Zenica-Doboj Canton.

At the beginning, after registration, the seminar was opened by Ramajana Kukavica, an expert advisor for the Bosnian language at the Educational-Pedagogical Institute of the Zenica-Doboj Canton. After that, the Minister for Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Zenica-Doboj Canton Mensur Sinanović addressed the meeting, wishing the successful work and emphasizing that similar seminars are planned for primary schools. After that, the director of the Language Institute dr. sc. Alen Kalajdžija shortly presented the work of the Language Institute, after which classes began.

Erma Ramić-Kunić, MA, spoke about the Bosnian redaction of the Old Slavonic language, dr. sc. Jasmin Hodžić on learning accents, mr. sc. Zenaida Karavdić on standardized words in the Bosnian language, and Hadžem Hajdarević, a writer, about national literature in the function of teaching mother tongue on the example of the poetry of Mak Dizdar. After the lecture, a brief discussion followed.
