Prof. dr. Masha Belyavski-Frank in cooperation with the Institute collected and translated a total of 136 sevdalinka into English and made an introductory study on this, she says, „quintessentially Bosnian (song), with references to the Bosnian culture and geography, to customs of courting and dress, and with the nuances and flow of the language intertwined with the music“. The songs are organized in thematic cycles: courting, blossoms, flowers and fruit,  gold-thread embroidery, passion, time for love, marriage, cities, and the bitter-sweet pangs of love. This book is yet another step towards opening the Bosnian culture to the world, because sevdalinke and introductory studies are given in parallel in Bosnian and English.
