Bosnian language lecture, Prijedor, February 28, 2018.
On the occasion of the Institute Day, a public lecture was held in Prijedor, on 28 February 2018, in the MIZ Prijedor. The topic of the debate was “Bosnian language in the context of the International Day of Mother Tongue”, with the speakers: dr. sc. Alen Kalajdžija (Director of the Language Institute), dr. sc. Jasmin Hodžić, mr. sc. Aida Kršo and the writer Hadžem Hajdarević.
The Institute’s staff spoke about the history of the Bosnian language, modern language and language norms, the importance of knowing, learning and preserving the Bosnian language, about language as the fundamental value of identity, cultural and literary tradition, with the emphasis on the importance of mastering the skill of speaking, language and the realization of basic human rights.
The participants emphasized the importance of motivating citizens about joint and planned activities, which, with the support of the institutions, could contribute to the harmonization of the positioning of the Bosnian language in schools.
